Tarraco Romana Consortium

The Tarraco Romana Consortium, representing the municipalities of Altafulla, Constantí, Roda de Barà and Tarragona, and the district council of Tarragonès, have entrusted the Tourism Science and Technology Park of Rovira i Virgili University with the development of a plan to increase tourism in the region.

The plan was officially initiated on 30 November 2009 with the signature of a cooperation agreement between:
· Turespaña, Tourism Institute of Spain; 
· The Innovation, University and Business Department of the Government of Catalonia;
· The Tarraco Romana Consortium; and
· The Hospitality Association of the Province of Tarragona.

BALLED is our independently developed product that offers diverse variety in its special technical perfomance:

The case material – body & band –is manufactured from a specified and selected high grade aluminium. The case parts are anodizable in various colours. Both parts oft he case are joined together uisng multiple special, self cutting screws. Double sealing rings make the product waterproof and it is suitable for indoor & as well as outdoor use.

In summer 2009 our team started an extraordinary and very innovative project colaboration.

Together with mentally and physically handicaped persons in a technically well-equipped sheltered workshop at Bamberg/Germany we are producing the BALLED lamp in consideration of high tech and energy-efficient standards.

We are very proud to meet you as a selected part for illumination at the exhibition of the Food Photo Festival 2011 at Tarragona/Spain.

The school opened for the first time in the school year 1983 with 5 expert teachers and a principal. That first year there were no more than 60 students and the studies offered were Cookery, Restaurant Services and Accommodation.

 

Nowadays the school is composed of four buildings and with a staff of 54 people, out of which 48 are teachers and 5 who deal with administrative work. More than 400 students come to the school every year and the studies offered are Cookery and Gastronomy, Restaurant Services, Bakery and Confectionery, Butchery and Cold Meats processing, Tourist Entertaining, Accommodation Management, Tourist Guiding Information and Assistance, Travel Agencies and Event Management, and Catering and Services.

 

During all these years more then 4500 students have attended the school, many of whom are now scattered all over the National and European territory, some of them have even reached other continents.

Our cellars, located in the region of Baix Penedès (Tarragona), have been dedicated to the world of wine since 1914 when our great-grandfather Josep first began selling wine to the local market. Our grandfather Albert founded the first cellar in 1930. Our father, Benjamí, made the definitive step towards high quality winemaking in 1985, when he began bottling our first white and rosé wines, followed by our first cavas in 1990 and red wines in 1991. Two of his five sons, Albert and Gerard, have joined him in steering the cellar towards ever-increasing standards of quality.

Our aim is to make unique and individual wines which transmit the love we feel for our land and our environment.
